MPSC Civil Engineering(2021) Booklet Code (D) Q.60 An airplane begins its take-off run at A with zero velocity and a constant acceleration . Knowing that it becomes airborne 30 seconds later at B and that the distance AB is 900m, What is the acceleration and take-off velocity of airplane?

Given :-

Va = 0 (Intial Velocity)                                       a = 0 (Acceleration)        

Xa = 0                                                                Xb = 900 m ( Distance)            

Tb = 30 s ( Time form A to B) 

Calculate acceleration and velocity of airplane?


Solution :- 

a = a0 = Va

Va= a0 t + Va

     = a0 t   =  x

x   =  1/2  a0 t  +  Xa 

     = 1/2  a0 t  + 0

     =  1/2  a0 t 

Xb = 900 m

      = ½ a0 (30 s)2

         = 2 m/s2

Vb = (2 m/s2 ) (30 s)

      = 60 m/s

The acceleration of airplane =  2 m/s2      & The Velocity of airplane =   60 m/s
